There are many ways to help you prevent toenail fungus, and they all start with the type of shoes you wear. The best ways to keep from getting your toes infected is to be sure and wear shoes that give you a wide enough area for your toes to breath. And it is especially
important for you to wear shoes or sandals while at public pools, locker rooms, and showers, and never wear someone else’s shoes as they may have it and give it to you. However, good footwear alone will not protect you.
It is important to remember to always keep your toes clean and dry. Fungus love dirty moist area’s and your feet are the perfect hotspot for fungus. Also, if you wear toenail polish, be sure to not keep it on for too long as it can promote the growth of fungus and seal it away from soap and water. Furthermore, keep your toenails trimmed with clean tools.
If you use a dirty toenail clipper, or use someone else’s, you are at risk of spreading the fungus from toe to toe. It is best to always disinfect yours and carry it with you even to be used when you get a pedicure. However, if you already have toenail fungus, or even if you get it despite being careful, be sure to go and see your doctor for treatment.
